known by locals as 'berkeley by the sea'. students, tourists, locals what a brew! always something happening. the santa cruz beach boardwalk is a major tourist destination. it is the only beach boardwalk left on the west coast. the tourist train i am modeling makes 3 round trips a day from felton to santa cruz during the summer season. old logging companies built the rr in the 1880 during the beginning of the 'redwood rush'. they pretty much denuded the santa cruz mountains and today one must visit the two state parks in the mountains to see the old 'virgin' groves.
